Newindianews/ Francis Mpezeni The Mmbelwa district council has a new chairperson. He is Morgan Tembo of Ekwendeni ward in Mzimba north east constituency.
Tembo was elected today at a full council meeting after amassing 26 votes to beat Andrew Malinga of Mabiri ward in Mzimba south who got 3 votes.
The newly elected chairperson has promised to ensure that 25% of market revenue reverts back to the community and to foster relationship between councillors and members of Parliament in initiating development in the district.
